The Ameib Rhino Sanctuary which is part of the Erongo Mountain Rhino Sanctuary Trust, is a specially protected wilderness area with guest house in the Erongo Mountains, offering 10 guest rooms and 10 camping sites. The farm is among other things popular for two interesting sights: The Bull’s Party with the elephant head, a collection of impressing granite rock formations and the Phillipp’s Cave, an old cave of the San where they created many interesting rock paintings, including the very popular white elephant.
Erongo Region Accommodation
Nestled in a green Oasis, the thatched roof bungalows are grouped around the large water place / waterhole under shady palm trees and welcome the guest in the middle of the African wildlife of the Omaruru Game Lodge. Each Bungalow offers its own veranda from which the visitors can observe the animals and immerse themselves into the unique atmosphere of the Omaruru Game Lodge or relax by the pool.
The Etusis Nature and Game Reserve was gradually expanded to its 21,000 hectares of today. We consciously avoid fences, which suppress the natural migration of the game species through the Reserve. The Lodge was built a little later in the heart of the reserve – with a gentle ecologically sustainable tourism concept, in which mankind understands herself as a guest. This has created jobs for the local community and, last but not least, we are trying to give each of our guests an impression of the uniqueness of Namibian nature and the necessity to preserve it.
Epako Safari Lodge is a stylish and exclusive lodge situated in the Erongo region in an 11,000 hectare private reserve. The lodge, which has been completely renovated in 2014, offers exclusive space for 20 guests in 10 tastefully furnished rooms or suites. Hohenstein Lodge is located close to the Hohenstein (2310m), the highest peak of the majestic Erongo Mountains. The Lodge offers 14 rooms, a restaurant and a swimming pool. Activities include sundowner drives, guided walking trails and self-drive excursions to Bull’s Party, Philipp’s Cave, the Spitzkoppe or even the Brandberg.
Just west of Omaruru , The Erongo Wild perches amidst the rugged granite kopjes imminent to Namibia’s Erongo Mountains. The lodge is a founder member of the 2,000 square kilometer Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy, which brings together 30 private landowners in an effort to conserve this diverse area, known for excellent bird watching and hiking. There are also rare and endemic species of fauna and flora here, along with Bushman rock paintings.
Khan River was originally a cattle farm but was converted to a game farm and tourist destination a number of years ago. All internal fences were removed allowing the game to roam freely. For the last 15 years we have been building up game stock on our 15 000 acre game farm which has no high fence thereby allowing the animals to move at will around the Okawi Conservancy of which we are members & which covers an area of over half a million acres.

Erongo Plateau Camp is situated in the heart of the Erongo mountain range near Omaruru. This is the gate to Damaraland where you find the famous desert elephants or ancient Himba tribe in Kaokoveld. It is also within comfortable traveling distance to Swakopmund, Hentiesbay, Twyfelfontein, Etosha or even the capital city Windhoek. The camp provides three private campsites. Several excursions can be made including visits of interesting sights in the Erongo mountains such as Bull’s Party and Phillip’s Cave.
Spitzkoppen Lodge lies amidst the granite boulders of the the beautiful Spitzkoppe scenery. The Lodge offers 15 generously spaced chalets, each with private bathroom and covered outside viewing deck. The buildings are linked with elevated walkways all constructed to be wheelchair friendly and minimise the impact on the environment. The dining, lounge and bar area open onto the split level pool deck and the natural rock pool.

The eight farm-style rooms are situated at our farm house and are basic, spacious and comfortable. They do not offer any air conditioning or modern appliances, but authentic Namibian cosiness. All of the rooms are en suite. The Bush Camp offers Spacious Safari tents with stylishly equipped bathrooms at the back of each tent grant a comfortable stay. Each tent is furnished with a large double bed and a private terrace offering great vistas onto the breath-taking Erongo Mountains. Also on offer are 5 campsites. The private sites have cold / hot showers and open-air flush toilets.
