  We recently returned from a 12-day tour to Namibia, we were a group of 19 people. We had a great time in a truly magical country... I can say... read more that a big part of that experience was result of the effort and great attention of the team of C Africa Safaris & Tours:

* Louise, with whom we communicated extensively about the whole organization of the trip, including all the small details – she did a fantastic job and was always very helpful and responsive. She always did her best to answer to all of our requests.

* and guys on the ground – the guides Tuhafeni and Mike, and the cook Frans. They were outstanding! They were always smiling and fun, very knowledgeable and really put a lot of effort into their job. Without them, the trip would not have been the same... And Frans is a master chef! Have in mind, that this is not an easy work – first you drive a bus-truck for several hours, then you set up camp (tents and all), and then you prepare food... Very hard...

So a big, big thank you from all of us!!!

Regarding the country itself – it is incredible, a true definition of lonely, desert beauty... We visited Okonjima Reserve, Etosha National Park, Brandberg, Spitzkoppe, Swakopmund and Sandwich Harbour, Sesriem with Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, and finally finished in Windhoek. I cannot recommend visiting it highly enough and there is no better way of doing so by contacting C Africa Safaris & Tours. Thank you again!

An individual trip planned in detail from Windhoek southwards to the Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei, Luderitz, Swakopmund and the lower Skeleton Coast. Then through the northern townships to Etosha National Park and return via the Waterberg Plateau. The itinerary and accommodation were organised faultlessly, and the local knowledge and experience of the team was clearly evident in the detailed trip notes and information.

Travelling solo provides an opportunity to meet and interact with local people at leisure, to dawdle over the most spectacular sightseeing and to add on extra moments outside a fixed itinerary. The vehicle selection and camping equipment supplied by Namibia Car Rentals was perfect for the conditions, every need was addressed and there were no problems other than the occasional flat tyre.

To drive over 2500kms around Namibia is not an undertaking for the faint-hearted but the rewards are outstanding. One must have faith that the agent knows the country in detail.
C Africa Safaris has to be at the top of the list. Conscientious, responsive and, in particular, meticulous with so many details of the trip that are not readily apparent to a newcomer. I would not hesitate to recommend them for a similar adventure.

Working throughout the process to determine our interests, budget and preferences, C Africa Safaris developed a programme that provided flexibility, fun and enough luxury to feel high-class, with enough camping to enjoy the great Namibia landscape and keep costs very reasonable.



When we were on the ground, Louise and the team looked after us in detail, ensuring minor logistical hurdles (blown tyre) were handled quickly, we understood the ins and outs of driving around an expansive country like Namibia, and insider knowledge to give us the best experience.

Combined with Namibia’s great tourism options, it was a wonderful trip, and we can’t wait to return again. C Africa Safaris were great, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend (and have done so, in fact).

Personable, shared their culture and insights with students, found us wildlife in Etosha that we would not have been ourselves, cooked wonderful meals, drove professionally, and were so helpful during times when we needed to make adjustments due to student health issues. Our students left loving our guides and as a leader I left very happy to have the supportive company behind us as we made our plans and enjoyed our custom tour. I can't recommend them enough!

  Today it is a week ago that we returned from our amazing trip through Namibia. We have seen a lot of the country but not everything, so a reason to... read more return again to this beautiful country with its friendly people and beautiful nature. The next trip we will definitely book through Local Hero Travel again! Not only is it nice to have a contact person in case something happens along the way, but the whole process from start to finish with Nadja was a pleasure. Our youngest daughter was already staying in Namibia because she was doing volunteer work there and unexpectedly the opportunity arose to travel to her with the rest of the family and make a tour through Namibia together. Despite the short time for departure (6 weeks) Nadja of Local Hero Travel made it an unforgettable trip. We had a number of places in mind that we wanted to visit. Nadja put together a beautiful trip based on those places and with great additions. The accommodations we had chosen together with her were all more than worth it! The contact with Nadja was very pleasant, she always responded quickly to our emails and also gave us tips and suggestions. And how nice it is that someone arranges everything for you so that, when you get off the plane, you are picked up to be taken to the car rental company where an (almost new) car is ready and where, after explanation, the adventure can begin. At every accommodation we were welcomed and everything went smoothly. We really had a holiday feeling and that is largely thanks to Nadja. Because she had arranged everything so well we could really enjoy it! And it was also a nice thought that in case of 'emergency' Nadja was there to help. We would like to thank Nadja, and therefore Local Hero Travel/C Africa Safaris & Tours, for taking such good care of us and we will definitely be 'coming back'!

  It was a real lifetime experience. Camping with friends, water in Sossusvlei. Fantastic. Even swimming in the Sesriem Canyon was a wonderful experience. The water was muddy, but warm.
