Close by is the Namushasha River Campsite. Here you can set up camp on the grassy bank under old grandfather trees and breathe in the spirit of the river. Raise your glass with friends around the warmth of the flames next to the reed-lined river. Here the bulrushes that locals and elephants eat grow and the day and night water lilies float. Campers are more than welcome to enjoy the swimming pool, then dine at the Namushasha River Lodge Restaurant as close as the hop of the river bird.

Rooisand Desert Ranch is situated on the fringe of the Namib Desert in Namibia’s Central Region, at the C 26 between the mountain passes of Gamsberg and Kuiseb, halfway between Windhoek (170 km) and Walvis Bay on the Atlantic coast (190 km).  The farm has a size of some 12.000 ha, a huge area by European standards. The Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), which was already founded in the year of Namibian independence in 1990, is fighting for the survival of the cheetah in its natural habitat and is worldwide the number one address when it comes to these fast, African big cats. For this purpose, the CCF is running the renowned Research and Education Centre close to Otjiwarongo and the Waterberg, which combines research on and education about the fascinating cats. Here scientists, researchers, but most importantly visitors and normal cheetah fans get an interesting insight into the life of the fastest land mammal on earth.
