Nestled on a rock terrace high up on the slope of the Waterberg, the chalets of the Waterberg Plateau Lodge afford grand vistas of the endless Kalahari bush savannah below. Each of the eight double room chalets sits between red sandstone rocks in the midst of green bush, with total privacy guaranteed. Acacias shade the terrace; a plunge pool filled with spring water provides cooling and attracts birds and small game.

One of the highlights of Kaokoland in the far northern reaches of Namibia, Epupa is a magical belt of makalani palm forest on the perennial Kunene River. There’s something special about this Kaokoland refuge 180km north of Opuwo, where the Kunene River plunges into the gorge below. Two hundred metres upstream from the cascading falls, Omarunga Lodge is a cosy thatched lodge on the riverbank set under the palms, and the perfect place from which to experience Epupa enchantment. Hohenstein Lodge is located close to the Hohenstein (2310m), the highest peak of the majestic Erongo Mountains. The Lodge offers 14 rooms, a restaurant and a swimming pool. Epako Safari Lodge is a stylish and exclusive lodge situated in the Erongo region in an 11,000 hectare private reserve. The lodge, which has been completely renovated in 2014, offers exclusive space for 20 guests in 10 tastefully furnished rooms or suites. The floodlit waterhole situated next to the spacious terrace and lounge area of the lodge attracts plenty of game like oryx, zebra, kudu, giraffe, eland and rhino.

Ngepi Camp, situated in the unspoiled upper reaches of the Okavango delta panhandle in the western Caprivi strip, Kavango region, Namibia.  With clean Kalahari desert air, the camp is set on an island under amazing trees with permanent river frontage and surrounded by seasonally flooded swamps. It is a paradise of flooded plains and secret swampy backwaters, teaming with wildlife, as we are nestled between Mahango National park, a few km’s to the south, and Bwabwata National Park directly opposite across the river. Most of our campsites are along the river’s edge, with a grassed camping area and an adjacent parking space for vehicles, trailers and caravans. Each site has its own 220v AC solar powered electricity point, river water tap and fireplace/braai area. Our Bush campsites are a bit more secluded, with lovely big trees for shade, but they have no river view.
