Corona Guest Farm is a self-sustaining Guest Farm covering an area of about 23000 hectares in central Namibia. An area of unrivalled bio-diversity where Gamsberg mountains and Central Highland ecosystems overlap. It’s also a well-known game viewing. The farm is home to a large number of free-roaming Zebra, Kudu, Oryx and Steenbok apart from all other small game.
Corona is situated roughly half-way between Windhoek and Walvis Bay on the C26 gravel road. Take an unhurried journey across the Khomas Hochland and down the escarpment for a slower but almost traffic free alternative from the busy tarred B2 road. Time permitting, many prefer this route through rolling hills and valleys, to enjoy the far-reaching open spaces of the Namib Desert before the delights of the coast.
Our area is home to a widely representative cross-section of Namibian wildlife. It is a wonderland for lovers of both fauna and flora alike. Animals can be viewed by sitting in one of the many elevated hides located at various waterholes around the ranch. Alternatively, relax on our deck at the pool, which looks onto a waterhole. Different species of animals visit this waterhole day and night, when the waterhole is illuminated. The area around the Waterberg is also well-known amongst bird lovers.
Waterberg Guest Farm offers four comfortably furnished rooms and four bush bungalows, en suite. A lounge with a fireplace and a selection of books await you on cold winter nights. In the afternoon guests are treated with coffee and tea. Afterwards you may want to join our guide on a drive: visit the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), go to the ‘Little Serengeti’ with an abundance of wildlife, or enjoy your sundowner at one of our dams or waterholes against the backdrop of the majestic Waterberg Plateau.
Rooisand Desert Ranch is situated on the fringe of the Namib Desert in Namibia’s Central Region, at the C 26 between the mountain passes of Gamsberg and Kuiseb, halfway between Windhoek (170 km) and Walvis Bay on the Atlantic coast (190 km). The farm has a size of some 12.000 ha, a huge area by European standards. Camp Kala consists of just four guest Suites, linked by raised walkways, and although the lodge is perfect for exclusive use for 8 to 12 guests, the 4 suites can also be booked individually. Spacious and private, the open-plan suites have sumptuous twin or king-sized beds with a state-of-the-art air-cooling system. The comfortable seating area is equipped with a fully stocked personal bar. Each suite has its own deck with fire pit, outdoor shower and wood-fired hot tub. There is a walkway to the private, shaded sala with a king- size outdoor day bed – perfectly placed for an armchair safari or to ‘sleep out’ under the stars.
