Namib Naukluft Lodge

On the banks of the Orange River, which forms the natural border between South Africa and Namibia, you will find Orange River Lodge. The lodge is situated in the border town of Noordoewer – Namibia and is perfectly located between Cape Town and Windhoek to offer travellers a welcome rest. We offer 4 double self-catering rooms, 2 double rooms and 6 family rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom, air-conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities. The Lodge offers free Wi-Fi and is pet friendly. Relax and enjoy our hospitality in our thatched lapa restaurant where we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our bar offers the typical friendly Namibian atmosphere. We offer activities like fishing, canoeing and for visitors with an interest in the history of Namibia there are a number of interesting sites to visit. Other activities can be arranged on request.  Orange River lodge borders the Ai-Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Conservation Park which spans some of the most spectacular scenery of the arid and desert environments in southern Africa. The park is characterised by a unique and impressive variety of plant species.

Just east of Aus, Klein Aus Vista lodge is nestled in the granite-gneiss hills with magnificent views of the landscape. This is the area where the Namib Desert begins to merge with golden grasses, where wild horses roam free and people once gathered with diamond dreams. Klein Aus Vista provides the perfect base to explore south-western Namibia, as a destination in itself or a perfect halfway stop en route from the canyon to the red dunes of Sossusvlei or vice versa.

On the Eastern fringes of Namibia, the red sands of the Kalahari beckon. Let us introduce you to the place of burnished sands at Kalahari Anib Lodge. Easily accessible by sedan car and 30km from Mariental, this Kalahari lodge is a good overnight stop if travelling between Windhoek and the south or continuing to the Kgalagadi. There’s nothing like feeling the good earth underfoot, so stretch legs on the trails around the lodge, keeping eyes open for Springbok, Zebra and Wildebeest and take the chance to breathe in the character and energy of this distinctive area, feeling closer to the land.

On your way to Sossusvlei in the heart of the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, you will find Barkhan Dune Retreat, uniquely built into the side of a Barkhan dune with elegantly furnished rooms and unmtached hospitality.

The elegant Luxury Bush Camp is situated within the 2 000-ha enclosed wilderness area of Okonjima Nature Reserve, only 2.5 km from the Okonjima Plains Camp. Eight thatched, African-style chalets, a junior suite and three en-suite safari tents.

The Dune Camp provides a more down-to-earth, yet stylish, experience. It has an unparalleled natural charm, which courts the young and more adventurous traveler.  The charm of the camp lies in its tranquil, intimate atmosphere, capturing the romance of a bygone era… Dune Camp requires a minimum stay of two nights and a day-safari with picnic lunch en-route is part of the package.

Torgos Lodge is located in the South of Namibia adjoining the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The lodge is alongside the C15 route, 7 km from the Mata Mata border post. Situated alongside the dry Auob River bed, the stylish main building (Lapa) is constructed from stone and thatch and has a lounge, bar, and dining area. Outside the Lapa is a large stone terrace, a group barbeque area (braai boma) and swimming pool overlooking a waterhole in the riverbed. Accommodation consists of 10 units, sleeping two people each on twin beds. There are eight standard tented or stone chalets and two luxury stone chalets. Four units have basic self catering facilities. The surroundings are typical of the Kalahari region, the dry river bed lined by large camelthorn trees, red sand dunes and sparse vegetation. The lodge is within a 11000 Ha game camp hosting a wide variety of game, notably Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest, Springbuck, Eland and Kudu. and many more. There is also abundant bird life for the avid bird watchers. including a breeding vulture colony.

The lodge is nestled between the boundaries of the famous Namib Naukluft Park in Namibia. You will find us halfway between Solitaire and Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei Pan. Quiver trees, Nama culture, rugged landscape and an impressive sweeping rock formation characterise Canyon Village.
