Just east of Aus, Klein Aus Vista lodge is nestled in the granite-gneiss hills with magnificent views of the landscape. This is the area where the Namib Desert begins to merge with golden grasses, where wild horses roam free and people once gathered with diamond dreams. Klein Aus Vista provides the perfect base to explore south-western Namibia, as a destination in itself or a perfect halfway stop en route from the canyon to the red dunes of Sossusvlei or vice versa.

Complementing the magnificence of a red sand sea, Namib Desert Lodge lies at the foot of ancient fossilized dunes. Make some space for wonder. A sunset or early morning drive through the red dunes exploring the sand masterpiece is breathtaking. Atop the ridge, as the sand begins to glow deep rich sienna, a view of utter beauty is illuminated in gold, extending from the soft dunes around you to the green ribbon of riverine trees in the distance and the purple-blue mountains. Tolkien would be taken aback – and inspired, I’m sure, by such fantastical scenery!

Tsondab Valley is a private Nature Reserve of 170 km2 bordering the Namib Naukluft Park on two sides. It’s varied landscape impresses with a combination of the red Namib dunes and typical African Camelthorn Savannah.  Tsondab Valley, with its 10 beds, is one of the smallest accommodation establishments of its kind, and this allows the managing owners to personally take care of the needs of each of their guests in an atmosphere of friendly familiarity. IGowati Country Lodge in Damaraland is situated in the town of Khorixas and is in close vicinity of Vingerklip, Petrified Forrest, Burnt Mountain, Twyfelfontein and Organ Pipes. The lodge is also the perfect stopover on your way to Etosha or Uis and the White Lady rock painting or even Torra Bay and the Skeleton Coast Park. The lodge offer 19 en-suite rooms, 6 family units, 2 self-catering units and 3 single rooms at affordable prices. There are fans in the rooms, a la carte restaurant, bar with DSTV and swimming pool. Rooms are either double or twin beds. 10 camping sites on green lawn with clean ablutions. Day trips to all sights in the area.

Kambaku Safari Lodge is situated about 20-25 km north of the Waterberg Nature Reserve on a 80 km² Wildlife Resort. The lodge faces a waterhole and is surrounded by woodlands of big thorn bushes and Omumborumbonga (leadwood) trees. Kambaku offers 8 double rooms and 2 luxury rooms. Activities include archery, clay pigeon shooting and of course game watching on a horse’s back, by foot when hiking or mountain biking.

Khan River was originally a cattle farm but was converted to a game farm and tourist destination a number of years ago. All internal fences were removed allowing the game to roam freely. For the last 15 years we have been building up game stock on our 15 000 acre game farm which has no high fence thereby allowing the animals to move at will around the Okawi Conservancy of which we are members & which covers an area of over half a million acres.

Anderssons at Ongava provides an interactive hub for guests to be a part of conservation science, where cutting edge technology meets hands on, field-based research. Guests at Anderssons at Ongava have the option of being immersed in and can contribute to developing creative, knowledge driven solutions with resident scientists, visiting researchers, conservationists and rhino security personnel, or simply relaxing and enjoying the luxurious guest suites, waterhole, photographic hide, and pool where they will find their own personal place for reflection.

The Etusis Nature and Game Reserve was gradually expanded to its 21,000 hectares of today. We consciously avoid fences, which suppress the natural migration of the game species through the Reserve.  The Lodge was built a little later in the heart of the reserve – with a gentle ecologically sustainable tourism concept, in which mankind understands herself as a guest. This has created jobs for the local community and, last but not least, we are trying to give each of our guests an impression of the uniqueness of Namibian nature and the necessity to preserve it.

Epupa Falls Lodge & Campsites are located on the banks of the Kunene River, right on the edge of the Epupa Falls. Dolomite Resort is located in a previously restricted scenic area in the western region of Etosha National Park, rich in biodiversity due to the absence of mainstream tourism. The dolomite formations in the area give the resorts its name and provide a lush vista.
