There’s something special about this Kaokoland refuge 180km north of Opuwo, where the Kunene River plunges into the gorge below. Two hundred metres upstream from the cascading falls, Omarunga Lodge is a cosy thatched lodge on the riverbank set under the palms, and the perfect place from which to experience Epupa enchantment. Nestled in a green Oasis, the thatched roof bungalows are grouped around the large water place / waterhole under shady palm trees and welcome the guest in the middle of the African wildlife of the Omaruru Game Lodge. Each Bungalow offers its own veranda from which the visitors can observe the animals and immerse themselves into the unique atmosphere of the Omaruru Game Lodge or relax by the pool.

We have 14 spacious panorama suites available, all with their own balcony overlooking Karivos spectacular Savannah landscape.
Elements of rough natural stone from the area and thatched grass roof were used to integrate the rooms into nature and make the lodge as unobtrusive to the landscape as possible. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have a minibar and coffee station available.

Simply stylish and elegant, the Zebra Kalahari Lodge is the most decadent of the 3 lodges on the Intu Afrika Private Game Reserve. After a short drive through the contrasting Kalahari Desert where game languish under trees or in pans, guests are welcomed with a much-needed refreshing drink and a smile as warm as the desert sun. The gurgling fish pond and the beautiful stone and wood buildings immediately soothe one’s soul and guests are ushered into the coolness of the lounge area overlooking a rather vibrant waterhole and swimming pool whilst logistics are efficiently handled. The rooms area are huge and the walls are decorated with ancient African masks and ebony furnishings and are fitted with air conditioners, a mini bar, a hairdryer and a coffee and tea station with a very large bathroom leading out to an outside shower. There are 16 rooms adjacent to the lodge area which consists of a lounge with comfortable leather seats, a dining area on a deck mirroring the waterhole and swimming pool and a bar. This lodge is ideal for families or for more mature travellers as the facilities at the main lodge are easily accessible from their rooms.

Plains Camp is your special home at Wolwedans. It demands nothing much of you, but to relax and gaze at the ever-changing colours of the desert.
