Atop the ridge, as the sand begins to glow deep rich sienna, a view of utter beauty is illuminated in gold, extending from the soft dunes around you to the green ribbon of riverine trees in the distance and the purple-blue mountains. Tolkien would be taken aback – and inspired, I’m sure, by such fantastical scenery!

Situated approximately 43 km from Otjiwarongo, Namibia – Frans Indongo Lodge is the ideal stop when travelling between Windhoek and Etosha National Park or the Caprivi.  The Frans Indongo Lodge was named after its owner distinguished businessperson, Dr. Frans Indongo. Dr. Frans Indongo, a subsistent farmer’s son, went from attending livestock on his father’s farm to becoming one of the wealthiest men in Namibia. Frans Indongo Lodge offers 14 Rooms and Chalets, with a stylish African Interior Design inspired by the Namibian Ovambo culture. Each room and chalet is fitted with its very own bathroom, air conditioning, fridge, and more.

If that is too much for you, you can also just relax in our pool or sit on our waterhole next to the lodge and watch beautiful birds and different antelopes passing by.  You can choose between one of the 5 comfortable apartments in the main building, from one of the two typical rondavels (bungalows) or you can also stay in the Mountain House and enjoy the stunning view from its balcony.

Goibib Mountain Lodge is a situated in southern Namibia and is a useful stopover for those travelling between South Africa and Namibia. It offers a tranquil getaway right in the heart of the Great Karas Mountains. The Karas region is the southernmost, and the driest area in Namibia. It is flanked by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, South Africa and Botswana to the east and the Orange River border lies to the south. The beauty of the surrounding veld, can be enjoyed in the morning or afternoon, on foot or from the one of the lodge’s air-conditioned four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles. A variety of game can be viewed, including kudu, springbok, gemsbok and ostriches, as well as smaller species such as rock dassies and the elusive steenbok. Goibib Mountain Lodge has plenty of walking trails in and around the farm, and are now specializing in spotlit night game drives.

The Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), which was already founded in the year of Namibian independence in 1990, is fighting for the survival of the cheetah in its natural habitat and is worldwide the number one address when it comes to these fast, African big cats. For this purpose, the CCF is running the renowned Research and Education Centre close to Otjiwarongo and the Waterberg, which combines research on and education about the fascinating cats. Here scientists, researchers, but most importantly visitors and normal cheetah fans get an interesting insight into the life of the fastest land mammal on earth. The Babson Guesthouse is an exclusive, luxurious accommodation run by the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). It offers room for six guests and thus guarantees a very personalized service.

Khowarib Lodge nestles on the banks of the Hoanib River in the magnificent Khowarib Gorge in north-west Namibia. The 14 canvas en-suite Chalets are a short walk from the lodge to the river bank and comprise either twin or double bed sleeping arrangements. Viewing platforms extend from the front of each tent shaded by the plentiful Mopani trees but affording splendid views of the gorge. The bathrooms are spacious and well equipped and add to the feeling of indulgence and relaxation that Khowarib Lodge offers.

Situated on a hill in a wide valley of the Waterberg mountain range, the Waterberg Valley Lodge overlooks the green valley and the red mountain walls. The canvas walls of the affordable Econo Chalets give your overnight accommodation an outdoor-feel; a double ceiling keeps the interior cool. Every chalet has its own brick bathroom and a small patio.

Le Mirage Resort & Spa is located only 21 km from Sesriem the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park and Sossusvlei. The Resort is blended in its natural settings, with each room offering a view of the vast plains of the Namib Desert.
