n’Kwazi Lodge and Camping

Khan River was originally a cattle farm but was converted to a game farm and tourist destination a number of years ago. All internal fences were removed allowing the game to roam freely. For the last 15 years we have been building up game stock on our 15 000 acre game farm which has no high fence thereby allowing the animals to move at will around the Okawi Conservancy of which we are members & which covers an area of over half a million acres.

Norotshama River Resort is ideally situated on the banks of the Orange River. Etaambura Camp, Namibia’s first Himba-owned camp is situated on top of a hill near the holy plains of Onjuva, and is a real insider tip. Etaambura has five canvas and thatch units each with its own private deck. These units have all been built on wooden platforms allowing amazing views onto the surrounding landscape. Etaambura is the ideal place to relax. You might see a klipspringer or at dusk, a Jameson’s rock rabbit. Tiny footprints are evidence of genets and African wildcats. The calls of a diversity of birds, the whispery rustle of paper-bark and other Commiphora trees, bottle trees in bloom, the rich hues of purple-pod Terminalia with 360 degree views make this camp unforgettable. After a game drive where you might be fortunate enough to see black rhino, enjoy a stroll and explore the hill, a botanical treasure trove with its many endemic species of plants and shrubs.
