One of the highlights of Kaokoland in the far northern reaches of Namibia, Epupa is a magical belt of makalani palm forest on the perennial Kunene River. There’s something special about this Kaokoland refuge 180km north of Opuwo, where the Kunene River plunges into the gorge below. Two hundred metres upstream from the cascading falls, Omarunga Lodge is a cosy thatched lodge on the riverbank set under the palms, and the perfect place from which to experience Epupa enchantment. In between rest and relaxation, there is much to experience here. Take the golden opportunity to visit the Himba, one of the last semi-nomadic groups in Africa; get your courage in check for a guided walk in search of the Kunene crocs or a rafting trip on the river (seasonal). ; And at sunset join the sundowner drive to a hill overlooking Epupa Falls for that time of day when everything pauses for beauty and celebration. Khan River was originally a cattle farm but was converted to a game farm and tourist destination a number of years ago. All internal fences were removed allowing the game to roam freely. For the last 15 years we have been building up game stock on our 15 000 acre game farm which has no high fence thereby allowing the animals to move at will around the Okawi Conservancy of which we are members & which covers an area of over half a million acres.

Situated between Usakos and Omaruru amidst massive granite boulders overlooking the magnificent Erongo Mountain Range is AiAiba Lodge. The Erongo Region is one of the most environmentally diverse areas in Namibia, hosting an array of endemic and near-endemic plant, reptile, mammal and bird species, as well as a wealth of cultural artefacts. Twenty thatched-roof twin bedrooms, tastefully appointed en-suite shower, offer the visitor a unique, luxurious African experience. The restaurant with its panoramic view, bar and crystal-clear pool nestling amount the rocks add to the natural tranquillity of the surroundings.

Hidden among large grey granite boulders and mopane trees, Hoada Campsite has the trimmings of a serene home in the wilderness. A well-maintained gravel road, requiring a high clearance vehicle, leads to the camp, located approximately 75 km west of Kamanjab. Pitch your tent in one of the spacious campsites or book one of our 4 permanent tented units. Each site has ample space for roof tents and is equipped with a kitchen area and BBQ facilities, a flush toilet and an open-air shower with warm water. On hot afternoons, take a dip in the pool nestled between the rocks and enjoy a drink on the wooden decks around it.

Located just 8 km from the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern boundary of Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge is an ideal overnight stop for visitors to the game reserve. The name Mushara is derived from the Purple Pod Terminalia tree which grows abundantly on the lodge grounds and in the surroundings. The thatched public area includes a small library with a selection of good books, a bar with an extensive wine cellar, an airy lounge complete with welcoming fireplace for winter evenings, a dining area and a well stocked curio shop. Great attention has been paid to the décor, which is an eclectic blend of traditional African and modern works of art mixed with original older paintings.

We have 14 spacious panorama suites available, all with their own balcony overlooking Karivos spectacular Savannah landscape.
Elements of rough natural stone from the area and thatched grass roof were used to integrate the rooms into nature and make the lodge as unobtrusive to the landscape as possible. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have a minibar and coffee station available.

Right on the doorstep of Namib-Naukluft National Park, not far from Sossusvlei the lodge is ideally suited for exploring the Namib Sand Sea – a World Heritage Site with some of the highest dunes in the world. Both lodges are located in the Namib Tsaris Conservancy, a private nature reserve of over 150,000 hectares, adjacent to NamibRand Nature Reserve in the west.
