Caprivi Houseboat Safaris’ Lodge is an exclusive lodge nestled amid a lush green garden on the banks of the Zambezi River, a few kilometers east of Katima Mulilo in the Caprivi region of Namibia, offering genuine hospitality in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Two fairly private campsites are available with communal ablutions consisting of a ladies’ and men’s shower and toilet. The ablution block also has two kitchenettes for those not wanting to braai (BBQ), equipped with a small gas cooker and dish-washing facilities. Each camping site can accommodate up to six guests.

Ngepi Camp, situated in the unspoiled upper reaches of the Okavango delta panhandle in the western Caprivi strip, Kavango region, Namibia. With clean Kalahari desert air, the camp is set on an island under amazing trees with permanent river frontage and surrounded by seasonally flooded swamps. It is a paradise of flooded plains and secret swampy backwaters, teaming with wildlife, as we are nestled between Mahango National park, a few km’s to the south, and Bwabwata National Park directly opposite across the river. Most of our campsites are along the river’s edge, with a grassed camping area and an adjacent parking space for vehicles, trailers and caravans. Each site has its own 220v AC solar powered electricity point, river water tap and fireplace/braai area. Our Bush campsites are a bit more secluded, with lovely big trees for shade, but they have no river view.
On the banks of the Orange River, which forms the natural border between South Africa and Namibia, you will find Orange River Lodge. The lodge is situated in the border town of Noordoewer – Namibia and is perfectly located between Cape Town and Windhoek to offer travellers a welcome rest. Elevated on wooden decks, with panoramic views over one of Onguma’s most beautiful waterholes is the new Onguma Camp Kala. With its conical, mud plastered central tower resembling a termite mound and the whole camp elevated on wooden stilts – it is set to raise the bench- mark to a whole new level. The thatched camp is centered around game viewing with numerous vantage points to take it all in – be it the comfortable lounge, the intimate cocktail bar or the beautiful deck, which is sunny by day and warmed by a fire pit at night. The dining area has an open plan ‘show’ kitchen and all-day pantry to ensure everyone feels right at home. For guests who want to be more active there is a gym, whilst those who want to relax, can while away the hours in comfort in the ground-level photographic hide, enjoy a massage in the treatment room or practice yoga on the yoga deck.
Camp Kala consists of just four guest Suites, linked by raised walkways, and although the lodge is perfect for exclusive use for 8 to 12 guests, the 4 suites can also be booked individually. Spacious and private, the open-plan suites have sumptuous twin or king-sized beds with a state-of-the-art air-cooling system. The comfortable seating area is equipped with a fully stocked personal bar. Each suite has its own deck with fire pit, outdoor shower and wood-fired hot tub. There is a walkway to the private, shaded sala with a king- size outdoor day bed – perfectly placed for an armchair safari or to ‘sleep out’ under the stars.
Visit one of the eldest farms in southern Namibia and enjoy the real farm(ers) experience just on the foot of the Naukluft mountains. Campers are more than welcome to enjoy the swimming pool, then dine at the Namushasha River Lodge Restaurant as close as the hop of the river bird.

Forty kilometres east of Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Mubala Camp is tucked away under a canopy of green, this camp provides the creature comforts for the city-slickers without taking away from the outdoors experience. Safari camping on the banks of the Zambezi River takes camping to an entirely new level. Eight safari tents (sleeping four) with en-suite bathrooms provide comfortable Zambezi homes. Guests have the option of cooking up a storm in their fully-equipped kitchens, having a bite to eat at the camp’s restaurant or picking up a braai pack for a hearty barbeque.
Zambezi Mubala is a secret river hideaway where water laps the shores of the mighty Zambezi, hippos laugh and the calls of fish eagles pierce the vast blue sky. Leave your vehicle at Zambezi Mubala Camp, south of Katima Mulilo to cruise downriver and enter the enchanted Mubala world. The lodge sings its tributes to the colours of the water, the surrounding riverine vegetation and the clear blue sky, adopting the local Silozi name for colour – ‘Mubala’. A bird-lover’s dream, Zambezi Mubala Lodge is home to over 450 species of birds and hosts the springtime (August – December) visit of one of the largest colonies of carmine bee-eaters in Africa. These bright and cheerful visitors nest along the banks of the majestic Zambezi, filling the air with sound, activity and colour as they flash crimson breasts, swooping and rising into the air in an exuberant burst of energy.
